ok,

with the oft-repeated questions
concerning this semi-rare release..

it might be helpful to combine
this information here..
(redundant as that may seem)..

however,

i do appreciate this release
for the original exposure of
this song..

and for the somewhat anti-trendy
looking artwork...(half-tone
dithered pictures of farm
machinery)....

anyways, here goes..

the born slippy...FAQ v0.1 [01/09/00]
----------------------------------------------
[intro/premise]

yes, born slippy is by far the most popular
song that underworld has ever made...and
yes, they're quite tired about talking
and playing it...(however, they still do)..

anyways the original version has quite
a history behind it..

{which we'll eventually add here...}

but for now, here are some
questions and answers for you to peruse...
-------------------------------------------------
Q: where can i find these? and for how much?
these are out of print (right?)

A: yes, they are out of print.. please try
checking such web sites as http://www.eil.com
   http://www.gemm.com, and of course http://www.ebay.com

the price definitely varies from US$10 - to upwards of
US$40...after that, is it really worth it?

--------------------
Q: i still can't find it, now what?

A: you can try finding various versions of it on compilations

   such as this release:

		[which mix?]

--------------------
Q: are these mixes any different from the
re-released versions in 1996, and 1999?

A: depends, on what mixes you are looking at.

the (bs...), and TELEMATIC mixes are unique to
these releases..

while the version of .NUXX is an edit
of the version which came on the '96, and
'99 releases.

the full version of born slippy.NUXX is
about 11min37sec as compared to the 9min44sec
on this release..

--------------------
Q: do they ever play any of these versions
live?

A: the NUXX version is played at practically
every concert they've ever had (although you hear
several variations of it)...

the (bs...) is also heard, and is more faithful
to the original..

i'm not sure if the .TELEMATIC version has
been played...

(on an interesting note, one of their early concerts
had them singing the .NUXX lyrics with the
instrumental version of (bs...))

--------------------
Q: what about the videos for this song.

A: there were two (that included the
music from the short single version)...

there is the 'normal' one that was
played on MTV and other music channels
(and appears on their video compilation tapes).

and they made a second version with visuals
from the 'trainspotting' movie..

There's an original "Born Slippy"?

"Born Slippy" was originally released as an EP back
in April of 1995. It contained an original mix, plus
the "Nuxx" and "Telematic" versions. The "Nuxx" mix is
the one most people have become familiar with, as it was
featured on the Trainspotting soundtrack, and later re-released
as its own single. The original mix, which is well
worth searching out, is available on that first 1995
release, as well as the second UK "Pearl's Girl" single
(the one with the reddish cover, and not to be mistaken
with the American EP release.)

Q:How come the lyrics of Born Slippy.NUXX are included
in the sleeve of dubnabasswithmyheadman?
A:Because the lyric of 'Born Slippy' were already written
before the release of the album.

Q:What's the difference betwen 'Born Slippy' and 'Born Slippy .NUXX'?
A:'Born Slippy' is an intrumental track, it doesn't sound
like 'Born Slippy .NUXX' at all.
